Mixed Pickles, page 212

One peck of green tomatoes, 1 peck of green cucumbers, 3 heads of cabbage, 1 dozen onions, 5 green peppers; after cutting these medium fine, add 1 quart of brown sugar, 1/4 of a pound of, ground mustard, 1 ounce of white mustard seed, 1 ounce of tumeric, 1 1/2 gallons of vinegar. Add mixed spices to suit the taste and cook two hours. Seal up while hot.
