Custard Pie, page 114

Yolks of 3 eggs, 2 cupfuls of sweet milk, 1 table-spoonful of melted butter, 3 heaping table-sponfuls of sugar, 1 heaping table-spoonful of flour. Cook until well done, then add the frosting and return to the oven until frosting is a light brown. For the frosting use whites of 3 eggs and 3 table-spoonfuls of sugar.

Take twelve large tomatoes, 3 green peppers, 2 onions, 1 table-spoonful of salt, 2 of sugar, 1 of cinnamon, 3 teacups of vinegar; peel the tomatoes and onions, chop fine, add the peppers and boil three hours. Bottle and seal. This catsup is excellent and much less trouble than the strained tomato catsup.
