Chicken Pie, page 45

Cook chicken tender, season with butter, pepper and salt to suit the taste, one pint of milk. Use bottom and top crust, also a crust in the middle. Pastry as for pies. Bake in a slow oven.


Sweet Potato Pie, page 116

Six eggs, 2 table-spoonfuls of butter, 1 cupful of sugar, 1 nutmeg, 2 cupfuls of sweet milk; boil the potatoes; skin them, and put them through a colander. Bottom and top crust.
